Landing Utility Vessel 1608

The new Damen Landing Utility Vessel 1608 is able to carry out a wide range of support tasks to the aquaculture industry, including the transportation of people, equipment and feed to offshore fish-farming locations. A key feature of the LUV 1608 is the hull design, which has been developed to accommodate a HS Marine AK67 E4 Crane. This size of crane offers very high capability not usually seen in a vessel of 16 metres with close to 14 tonnes lifting capacity at 3.5 metres and 3 tonnes at 13 metres.

Utility Vessel Series

The Utility Vessel Series complements Damen’s range of heavy duty workboats and offshore vessels. The UV Series is comprised of several designs that share the same basic principles: the ability to support a wide variety of light duty operations such as buoy laying, survey and research work, diving operations, lighthouse supply, fire-fighting, pollution control, fish farming and maintenance work. Some designs are more suitable for inshore work, others for coastal and offshore operations.

Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam is mainly focused on building fishing vessels. In addition we are involved in the design and construction of seagoing workboats such as buoy laying and offshore vessels. We have an extensive staff with a broad experience in designing tailor-made vessels and winches to meet the specific requirements of our customers. Maaskant makes use of its own well-equipped engineering works to provide the optimum 24-hour service. Our three dry docks are fully equipped to service larger vessels as well.
