Our Engineering department is ready to translate your special requests into a practical solution on board your vessel. We offer service during life cycle to all kind of vessels and we carry out repairs to steelwork or equipment on board in case of damage or malfunction.

History of Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld

In 1922, the two Damen brothers, Jan and Rien, started building boats in a shed next to the family home. Five years later they formalised the company as Damen Brothers.

1 Established in 1927

The Damen brothers Jan and Rien started the first Damen shipyard next to the river Merwede in Hardinxveld. Five years later they formalised the company as Damen Brothers. Throughout the almost 90 years since then, Damen has grown into an internationally acclaimed shipyards group.

Shipyard remained a small, yet prominent, company for more than 40 years. So Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld has been a Damen Shipyard since 1927. It is in fact the shipyard where Damen Shipyards was founded.

Shiprepair

Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld is equipped to offer service and repairs to vessels of their own supply but also to all others. From damage caused by collision or malfunctioning of all kind of "on board installations", a highly skilled repair crew is ready to fix the problem on our shipyard or even on location. We cooperate in these with other Damen shipyards and suppliers and so we can offer you a complete range of services on many locations.

If your vessel needs a refit because of a change of its operational profile, our engineering department is ready to work out the technical details of this to prepare the necessary details for execution these works, including the guidance of the approval process for the classification society.

Facilities

About

With a total area of approximately 5,500 m², the yard is situated on the north bank of the River Merwede. Depending on dimension and weight we will offer you our possibilities. All our slipways are completely covered and has the possibility to control environmental conditions. Furthermore, the yard has berthing capacity in a total length of approximately 160 m, a well-equipped carpentry and a piping department with modern CNC bending technology. All workshop areas are covered with sufficient crane capacity.
